Description: orkney in 1960 mainly concerns travel to and from the South Isles. Primarily this was shows the Heddle family visiting different islands, and playing at the beach. However there are some interesting examples of the way the more remote islands survived and how goods were delivered to and from the islands.

There is one sequence which shows how sheep were transported from one island, now uninhabited, to the other isles. The 'Pole Star' Northern Lighthouse Board Vessel also can be seen.
