A record of the Brewis family wedding at Ardwell Church. Also includes footage of a party around a huge bonfire with dancing and bagpipe music.
Faith MacTaggart Stewart married John Brewis on 7 October 1949 at Ardwell Church. John Brewis later became a member of Wigtownshire County Council and was MP for Galloway 1959-1974. The piper, Jimmie Brown of Stranraer (at 3.12 mins) was later used as the model for the piper on Walker's Shortbread tins. The bonfire was lit on the eve of the wedding near Low Clachanmore Farm, near Tor hill.
