Shotlist:
‘Flung’ explores the moment when the worlds of a tormented young boy and an alienated old man collide with unforeseen consequences for them both. Shot as black and white, ‘Flung’ is a timeless short – the ‘everyman’ and ‘everyboy’ quality being far more important than geographical and modern references. Dipping in and out of a busy City Soundscape, the audience is carried along on two separate journeys that become entwined as one. Sympathy shifts from one character to another as the Boys interaction with the Old Man becomes increasingly cruel. An emotional story that brings together two not so very different lives.
