At the pit, the bus arrives and the miners clock on, get changed into their working clothes and walk towards the pit head. They put on their lamps (3.06); Shots of miners on surface and climbing the stairs to the cage. The cage is filled. Shots of the operator and winding mechanism as the cage descends (4.23); Soon after the miners go down, coal is reaching the surface - 1000 tons every day in this pit alone.
