Date: 1963

Director: d. Laurence Henson

Sponsor: The Scottish Committee of the Arts Council, The British Council and the Films of Scotland Committee

Running time: 20 mins

Description: A documentary on the work of artists John Maxwell, Joan Eardley and Robin Philipson.

The painting in question is probably 'Garden at Night', completed by Maxwell around 1960 (or so we think, as Maxwell was well known for re-working his paintings over long periods, so we cannot be sure of the date). It features a large moth painted against a night sky.
