Description: Queen Mary on a visit to the Denham Film Studios where she is presented with a bouquet of flowers and accompanied by Sir Alexander Korda and the Hon Richard Norton. This footage may have been taken while the filming of "The Drum" was taking place at the Studios.

The donor, J C G George is seen in the film presenting a bouquet of flowers to Queen Mary. Information from the donor: this footage may have been taken while the filming of "The Drum" was taking place at Denham, as he remembers being sent off to have tea with Sabu somewhere in the studio, after being presented to the Queen. The donor's father, Edinburgh born E H George WS, was Secretary of the board of London Film Productions Ltd and had his offices at Denham Studios. During his time at the Studios "The Private Lives of Henry VIII", "The Scarlet Pimpernel", "The Four Feathers", "Sandars of the River" and "The Drum" were made. He was later promoted to a seat on the board. For further biographical and background information see paper archive .

Further information from donor (August 2002) as follows: My father Edward Harry George, WS [1904 - 1957] (later Colonel and OBE - during the war of 1939 - 1945 he was a Military Governor and arrested Kramer, the Commandant of Belsen Concentration Camp) is standing just behind myself (later HM Kintyre Pursuivant and HM Linlithgow Pursuivant at the Court of the Lord Lyon) in kilt. Lord Grantley is opening the door of the car, Queen Mary (widow of George V) and Sir Alexander Korda wearing glasses.
